The Gamecocks are expected to debut the Steve Lattimer skull-face look against the Chanticleers to go along with the new 'Script Carolina' helmets.

Week 1: Coastal Carolina

“Let’s put the women and children to bed and go lookin’ for dinner!”

It's finally game day. I'm getting a little too old for these 1AM kick-offs, but I guess I'll have to just deal with it, because I can't sleep when the Gamecocks are playing anyway. Let's get straight to the point: the Gamecocks are going to win this game. The big question is to what degree will South Carolina make use of it's shiny new playbook. Do they stick to the basics and just grind out a win? Or do they open the floodgates to give Georgia too much to prepare for next week? I think they'll run the entire playbook, but will find a lot of success in the run game and will end up sticking to that at the end of the game. I'm sure Muschamp is eager to put the whole 'Will Muschamp hates offense' story to bed, and he realizes that this a perfect opportunity to put up a lot of points against a Coastal Carolina team that isn't very talented on Defense. This year's Gamecock Offense is probably the most talented that Muschamp has ever had as a head coach. Expect fireworks early. Ideally Jake Bentley is able to put this game away early so Michael Scarnecchia can finally get some real game reps.

Prediction: USC 52 - Coastal Carolina 17. Miss Teriyaki Chicken isn't as optimistic about the revamped offense, and only expects the Gamecocks to win 28 - 17.
