How to make Teriyaki Salmon - Wow yourself!



Salmon Teriyaki with rice and avocadoTeriyaki sauce is ideal for marinating or basting fish since it takes away the smell. Teriyaki salmon is a really simple and healthy way of cooking salmon. Grilled fish is brushed over with teriyaki sauce a few times and voila, your dish is ready!

Ingredients

  • 4 fillets of salmon
  • Sea salt to taste
  • For the teriyaki sauce
  • 150 ml soy sauce
  • 150 ml mirin
  • 50 ml sake
  • 50 ml sugar

Directions

Add the ingredients for the teriyaki sauce into a saucepan and bring to the boil over a moderate heat, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced to about a third and looks glossy. Keep stirring continuously while the sauce is cooking.

Next, preheat the grill on high and line the grill pan with foil.

Brush the fillets with vegetable oil and season with sea salt. Place each fillet, skin side down under the grill and cook for 5 minutes. Turn over and cook for another 3 minutes. Brush the teriyaki sauce onto each fillet and then place the fish under the grill for a minute. Repeat this process of brushing and grilling a few times.

Tips
