A teriyaki burger is a take on the teriyaki style of Japanese cooking. Burger patties seasoned with teriyaki sauce, are grilled and served with burger buns and garnished with a slice of pineapple and red pepper. A delicious way of transforming a burger into a gourmet dish!
Ingredients
- 1-1/4 lbs. lean ground beef
- 1/3 cup teriyaki marinade and sauce
- 4 large cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 8 slices pineapple
- 1 red bell pepper, seeded
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 4 leaves iceberg lettuce
Directions
Preheat grill to medium.
Combine together the beef, teriyaki sauce and garlic in a large bowl. Shape the mixture into four patties all of the same size. Grill patties on one side until the juices begin to appear on the surface. Flip the patties over. Cook for another 4 minutes or until done. Grill the pineapple slices and red bell pepper while grilling the patties. The pineapple slices should be just slightly browned. Slice the bell pepper.
Serve each patty sandwiched between the burger bun, topped with a tablespoon of mayo, a lettuce leaf, two slices of pineapple and a red pepper slice.
Tips
Serve teriyaki burgers with coleslaw on the side. I had some good results with other burger recipes, such as the ones from Best Burger Recipe, however, chicken and pork usually yield the best results.
